Skills Classes

Check out our current list of Skills classes. To enroll, just click the “Book” button. You do not need a membership or to have taken the Maker Orientation in order to sign up for any of our classes!

Maker Orientation

Get an introduction to our space and some of our tools all while making some super cool coasters!
This orientation is required if you’d like to use the Makerspace outside of classes.

Bandsaw Basics

In this class, you will construct a curved box with an inset drawer. You will learn the basic setup of the bandsaw, will make controlled cuts on the bandsaw, and will learn the importance of order of operations.

Bent Lamination

Learn how to bend thin layers of wood around an arch to form a permanent bend in solid wood. You will make a beautifully curved iPad stand

Box Joints

Box joints are beautiful and strong. Learn how to make cuts on the table saw using a dado set to make interlocking grooves. You will create a wine gift box with sliding lid.

CNC Orientation

Take our CNC Orientation and gain access to the state-of-art CNC Router!
Users must be at least 18 and have completed our standard Maker Orientation.

How To Be Handy

We get it. There are a million reasons why you never learned how to be handy around the house. But you're here now and ready to dig in with your own 2 hands!

Intro to Turning

Learn the basics and safety fundamentals of woodturning. Students will practice setting up a lathe for use, process and mount their turning stock, and use traditional spindle turning tools to make a candle stick.

Mortise & Tenon Side Table

Learn mortise and tenon joinery, shape legs and aprons, while making a solid wood side table. You have the option of personalizing by selecting a natural edged plank for the table top.

Woodworking I

Learn common woodworking terms, proper measuring techniques, power tool setup, and how to work safely with some of our large floor tools. Walk away with a custom frame you made with your own two hands!

Woodworking II

Learn the concepts behind the tools, the underlying characteristics of wood, and receive an introduction to the bandsaw. Make curved cuts on the bandsaw while making a custom trivet.

Woodworking III

Learn cross-cuts on the table saw and be introduced to the sliding dove-tail joint. You will make a bench-hook to be used for future woodworking projects!
